Can't decide on a hero?

 Maybe this list, from the History's Heroes website,  will give you some ideas!  Click here for a list (ranked by popularity of submissions).

However, be careful!  This list includes many people that don't meet the criteria for our assignment:
  - some are not from western culture
  - some are from your home countries
  - some are celebrities, but I wouldn't consider them "heroes"
  - some are idolized by many but are not "heroic"

Remember:

You're not choosing someone who was a genius.
You're not choosing someone who was famous, well-known, or even well-loved.
You're not choosing someone who did famous things.
You're not choosing someone who overcame great odds.
You're not choosing someone who happened to be president at an historic moment.

(It's true, your hero may be a famous, well-known, well-loved genius who overcame great odds and was president at an historic moment, but those things themselves don't make a person a hero!)

You're choosing someone whose personal actions were heroic.
